HEAD OF PRODUCTION - JAMES CALLAGHANJames, born in Willenhall, has been involved in Drama, Music and Media for many years. He trained as an actor under the IAN HUDSON, who also trained actress Josie Lawrence (EASTENDERS, WHO'S LINE IS IT ANYWAY). From this early start James began to find a love for script writing where he wrote for local Drama group, The Akrill Players. James went to Rowley College to study A' Level Music, Music Technology and Theatre Studies. In 1992 James studied Music and Drama at the University of Wolverhampton. During this time James learned the art of Musical composition, Stage directing and camera work. Upon leaving University James studied for a PGCE at Cheltenham and Gloucester and gained his first teaching post in 1997 at Cedar Park Music and Arts centre - a million pound lottery funded centre sponsored by Roxy music's Brian Eno. After many years in teaching James worked as a solo singer and played keyboards in local band Al's Kitchen where he met bass player, Frank Williams. In 2004 Frank and James started a small music business in a basement. THE BASEMENT STUDIOS is now the best music studio in the Dudley area with recording facilities and 4 rehearsal rooms. The studio also owns its own Music venue called THE BASELINE. With the business doing well, James built on its success by expanding into the media industry - and so, in June 2011 THE BASEMENT FILM GROUP was created..... the rest as they say is history!! |
